Reciprocity and Social Engagement
The Association regularly organizes volunteering work and charity events, such as visiting elderly homes, making donations and charity auctions to help those in need. These activities are for the disciples to cultivate a mind of gratitude and to repay the society with kindness. The Master always stresses:
“Volunteering and making donations is not for one’s merit-making, neither does it mean to show (off) one’s compassion. It is for repaying one’s debts to living beings. That is the reason for us to call the volunteer team ‘repaying kindness’.”
Due to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic, we have stopped most of our regular activities. Yet, we do not forget to reach out to those in need.
In March 2020, we donated face masks and sanitizers to Hong Kong United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service Integrated Home Care Service Team to come to meet the needs of the elderly in Tai Po who live alone.
In May 2020, the Society’s office in Canada donated a total of 20,000 pieces of medical face masks to the Provincial Health Service Authority (PHSA) in British Columbia, Canada to support the work of frontline medical workers.
In April 2020, we donated 4,000 pieces of medical face masks to Caritas Hong Kong to help its elderly centers.

"Merry Christmas Sharing"- The volunteers led more than 20 Puguang Special School students to watch the Christmas lights in Tsim Sha Tsui and the waterfront. Volunteers and students also shared a big dinner to celebrate the Christmas day.
